Payment plans
Ways to pay for your dental treatment
Pay on the day, claim your health fund through HICAPS, or spread the cost with Afterpay, humm or TLC, subject to their approval and terms. Eligible children are bulk billed under CDBS. Our own interest-free plan is for orthodontic treatment, including clear aligners.
What payment options do you offer?
How do I choose the right option?
Start with your treatment plan. Once you know the cost and your health fund benefit, the choice is usually clear:
- Check-ups and small treatment: most people pay on the day, after their health fund claim.
- Larger or staged treatment: some people spread the gap with Afterpay, humm or TLC. Compare the fees, interest and terms first.
- Orthodontic treatment: ask about our interest-free in-house plan.
- Children: check CDBS eligibility before anything else.
We explain costs and options, but we can't give financial advice. If you're unsure whether credit suits you, speak to a financial counsellor or adviser.
What happens if the cost changes during treatment?
Occasionally a tooth needs more than planned, such as a filling that turns out to need root canal treatment. If that happens we stop, explain what's changed and why, and give you a new quote before going ahead. Your quote is valid for 30 days.
Can I use my super?
Only in limited cases that the ATO decides, for treatment that relieves pain or treats a serious condition. It isn't a payment plan, and it has tax and retirement consequences. Read using super for dental treatment and get individual financial and tax advice first.
What if I can't afford private treatment?
Talk to us about staging treatment so the most urgent work comes first. If you hold a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, DPV Health in Broadmeadows provides public general and emergency dental care, with a waiting list. See how our fees work for more.
Common questions
Is Afterpay, humm or TLC interest free?
Afterpay Pay in 4 splits the cost into four instalments and charges no interest, but late fees can apply and Afterpay performs credit checks. humm is regulated consumer credit: fees apply, interest may apply depending on the contract you are offered, and a credit enquiry is performed. TLC is a finance broker that arranges personal loans from lenders, so lender interest and fees apply. Read the terms in full before you sign up.
Do you have your own payment plan?
For orthodontic treatment, including clear aligners, yes. It is interest free, paid by direct debit, and the plan is worked out case by case with you. For other treatment, Afterpay, humm and TLC are available.
Do you accept American Express?
No. You can pay by EFTPOS or card other than American Express.
Can I use my health fund and a payment plan together?
Yes. We claim your health fund benefit through HICAPS first, so the payment plan only needs to cover what is left.
Do I need to pay a deposit for crowns or dentures?
No lab-work deposit is needed. You pay on the day for the treatment you have that day.
How long is my treatment quote valid?
Thirty days. After that we prepare a new quote, because fees and your clinical needs can change.
